Days 6 - 15

On Day 6, 5/15/07, the gradders were out there cutting in the foundation. I took the kids up there to see the loader. Both were able to get up there and ride around on it. That was an experience that most kids don't get to have! Even Madison rode around.

On Day 9, 5/18/07, the forms were set.

On Day 14, 5/23/07, the forms were poured.

Day 15, 5/24/07, they are pouring the foundation and the walls. It should be about 1.5 weeks and they will start framing.

In the meantime, Chris and I have been working around here to get it ready to put on the market. He cleaned the garage and shed out this weekend. I've started packing up things that can be packed up. I've started a pile of yard sale items and will have a yard sale right before we put it on the market. We will be painting the inside this weekend, since it's a long weekend.

September will be here before we know it!

Day 1

Today was the day. The graders were there early this morning to start knocking down trees!!! It will take them a couple of days and then next week the foundation will begin to be poured. This is very exciting!! I went out there this afternoon to take pictures. I have a hard time visualizing it in certain stages and I had a hard time really visualizing what the yard was going to take shape to be. We aren't clear cutting it so there was more to think about. But I finally "got" it today when I was there. I saw where the driveway was going to be, the island of trees in the middle that Chris is going to keep, etc. I can't believe that the time has come. We have been talking and dreaming about our house for so long and to actually be in the beginning stages of the construction of the house is just amazing. This is going to be a long summer but a short one too. There will be days that I think it'll never end and that the house will never be built and then the time will come to move in and I'll think where did the time go and I have so much to do and I won't be ready. But I can't wait for that day to come.
